Gooseberry(Amla/Nellikka)Chammanthi

Gooseberry is a good source of vitamin C&Iron.It provides immunity.It has an anti aging property.Gooseberry is also known as Amla in Hindi.Amla helps in secreting Insulin,thus helps to reduce Diabetics.

Ingredients:
  • Gooseberry-7
  • Coconut grated-1/4cup
  • Small onion(shallots)-2-3
  • Birds eye chilly/green chillies-3-5(as per your spice level)
  • Curry leaves-2-3leaves  
  • Ginger chopped- 1/4tsp
  • Salt to taste
Method: 
  • Steam the Amla in a steamer for 10 minutes,till its flesh becomes soft and fall away from the seed.
  • De seed the gooseberries.
  • Grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste.
  • Do a taste check and add salt if required.
  • Mix together and shape them to a ball.
Serve with hot Plain Rice and Enjoy.....
