Mushroom Pepper Masala

  • mushroom-250gm,cut lengthwise
  • onion-2,medium sized,finely chopped
  • green chilly-1,chopped finely
  • ginger-1''piece,minced
  • garlic-1clove ,minced
  • tomato-1 chopped
  • bay leaf-1
  • cinnamon-1'' pieces
  • cloves-3
  • fennel seeds-1/2tsp,crushed
  • pepper-1tsp,crushed
  • curry leaves-1sprig
  • coriander powder-1tsp
  • turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  • salt
  • oil 
  • Clean and cut the mushrooms into 4 pieces and rub it with turmeric powder and salt.keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan.add 1 bay leaf,1-2 pieces of cinnamon,cloves and fry it for a minute. 
  • Add garlic, ginger,green chillies to this and saute till the raw smell goes off. 
  • Now add onion and saute well. Add coriander powder, turmeric,fennel seeds powder,pepper powder and stir for 2-3 minutes.Add chopped tomatoes and saute till the oil separates from the gravy. 
  • Now add mushrooms and salt .Mix well.cover and cook well till the mushrooms are done.Add curry leaves too.
  • Do not add water as the mushroom itself leaves enough water  from it while cooking.
  • After it cooks,Stir it till the water evaporates.
Serve hot with Chapati.....
